2024 Spring Retreat: "Reviving Rhythms"
Friday, June 7 - Saturday, June 8 (or Sunday, June 9) Pendle Hill (Wallingford) "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing and make melody." - Psalm 57:7 All are welcome to join us for our annual Spring Retreat - this year, for the first time, at Pendle Hill, a Quaker study, retreat and conference center located just west of Philadelphia. On the heels of Pentecost and with the Psalms and other texts as our guide, we'll focus on the art of keeping our hearts steadfast and in rhythm with the divine melody. Interfaith minister, singing healer and spiritual activist, Rev. Rhetta Morgan, will lead us on Saturday as we explore singing and music-making as both spiritual practice and metaphor for spiritual grounding and connection. The structured retreat program takes place on Saturday, including lunch and dinner (meals at Pendle Hill are exceptional!). Participants are encouraged to stay overnight Friday to extend their retreat experience, but are welcome to come just on Saturday (or Friday and Saturday without staying overnight). Participants also have the option to stay Saturday night, instead of or in addition to Friday night. Overnight participants will enjoy self-directed time Friday and/or Saturday night. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 24 (we can be more flexible with payment). Cost
We do everything we can to keep our retreats as affordable and accessible as possible. Please don't let cost be the reason you don't participate! Scholarships are available upon request - contact Pastor Tim as needed. In addition, for those willing and able, contributions beyond the registration fee are welcomed to help support participant scholarships. Program / Schedule Our structured time together will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday and conclude after dinner - approximately 7:30 pm. There will be space for individual reflection and group sharing, lots of singing, delicious food - as well as free time to enjoy the beautiful grounds at Pendle Hill! Overnight Accommodations We currently have both single and double rooms reserved in the Firbank and Chace buildings on campus. Bathrooms are shared. Most of the Pendle Hill campus is accessible. Food Pendle Hill is known for its delicious food (Pastor Tim can attest, having previously worked there) most of which is homemade! They also make extensive use of organic fruits and vegetables from their garden. All meals include gluten free and vegetarian options, and vegan options are easily accommodated. You can indicate any dietary needs on the registration form. Transportation We will coordinate ride-sharing as needed. You can indicate on the registration form whether you need a ride or can provide one. Note that the drive to Pendle Hill is about 30 minutes from Calvary, depending on traffic.
