Racial & Economic Justice

POWER
Calvary is a founding member of POWER, a statewide interfaith organization - part of the international Faith in Action network - that
mobilizes local congregations to organize for social, economic and ecological justice in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania.

Racial Justice Working Group
This group began in 2020 as a space for those looking to explore and deepen individual and collective engagement with the ongoing work of racial justice. There is intention within the group, and on behalf of the congregation, to develop opportunities for both reflection and action. There is also intention to center the unique responsibility of White folks in confronting White supremacy and racism, though all are welcome to participate.

We acknowledge that Calvary is located on the ancestral homelands of the Lenape people, whose presence and resilience in Pennsylvania continues to this day. We take this opportunity to honor the original caretakers who lived and continue to live on and steward this land, while recognizing the histories of land theft, violence, erasure and oppression that has preceded our presence here.
