Third Thing Small Groups
The underlying concept is based on Parker Palmer's book, A Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward An Undivided Life - and his work with so-called "circles of trust," where the 'third thing' functions like a metaphor to approach the soul "on the slant." It could be a poem, scripture text, story, piece of music or work of art.
Either way, "mediated by a third thing", Palmer writes, "truth can emerge from, and return to, our awareness at whatever pace and depth we are able to handle - sometimes inwardly in silence, sometimes aloud in community - giving the shy soul the protective cover it needs."

Note that these are more intimate small groups (no more than 4-5 people), meant to provide safe space for soul work - with the invitation to dig more deeply and honestly into ourselves. Timing is flexible, to be determined based on availability of those who are interested. And depending on interest, there may be more than one group running at a time.
Contact Pastor Tim for more information or to sign up. A basic orientation will be provided for all participants.
