Tim Emmett-Rardin steps into the interim pastor role as a long-time member at Calvary, having come initially in 1997 and officially joined the congregation in 1998. He has fond memories of riding his bike from Germantown to West Philly every Sunday, before eventually moving to the neighborhood in 2001. For the past year-and-a-half, he also served as Calvary's part-time Community Engagement Pastor.
A native Ohioan, Pastor Tim received his Master of Divinity from Drew University Theological School in 2004 - with an emphasis on social justice, urban ministry and interfaith engagement. He has worked extensively with youth and young adults as an ecumenical campus minister and interfaith chaplain at Drexel University, through various programs of Interfaith Philadelphia, as a youth pastor at churches in Philadelphia and New Jersey, and as a community volunteer. He is currently president of the Lansdowne Boys and Girls Club, where he also coordinates and coaches for the tee-ball and baseball programs.
After living in West Philadelphia for many years, he and his partner, Rev. Amy Emmett-Rardin, and their son, Gabe, now reside in Lansdowne. Amy is an ordained elder within the United Methodist Church, currently serving as a hospice chaplain and certified spiritual director.
