Love & Justice

Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public.
– Cornel West

Picture
Informed and inspired by the radical Jesus and the prophets of Jewish tradition, Calvary is at its heart a
justice-seeking congregation. We strive to put faith and love into action through community service projects and
the ongoing, intersectional work of justice and peace. Advocating and organizing for progressive social change
is a fundamental expression of our faith and investment in the kin-dom of God. On earth as in heaven.

Below are some of the ways that Calvary and its members are currently engaged -
check out the Calendar for upcoming actions and events.

Racial Justice Working Group
This group began in 2020 as a space for those looking to explore and deepen individual and collective engagement with the ongoing work of racial justice. There is intention within the group, and on behalf of the congregation, to develop opportunities for both reflection and action.
There is also intention to center the unique responsibility of white folks in confronting white supremacy and racism, though all are welcome to participate.
