Grief Support Group

Picture
THURSDAY,  MARCH 19, 7-8:30 pm (initially through August / timing may be revisited after May)
Virtual

Calvary is offering a free monthly grief support group, in partnership with the Council for Relationships
(CFR). Whatever grief you may be carrying, at whatever stage of grief, you are welcome to participate.

Please note that registration is now required, along with consent for services, prior to participating in the group. To register, contact Mike Butera.

Group Purpose
To continue learning about and process through the complex emotions surrounding grief and loss. This group is considered to be a therapy group which is intended to be both therapeutic and supportive. Participants will receive psychological education about experiences of grief, and give and receive support to each other's experiences of loss.

Group Facilitators
The clinical internship program at CFR is providing two group co-facilitators:
  • Alison Zimmer is a graduate student in the Mental Health Counseling program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is grateful for the opportunity to co-lead this group and support members as they share and process their experiences with grief.
  • Sasha Baken-Rennert is a rabbi and Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Pennsylvania who is passionate about supporting people through life’s most meaningful and challenging moments. She currently serves as a clinical intern at the Council for Relationships, where she provides counseling and works with clients to navigate relationships, mental health, and major life transitions. Drawing on her experience as a former assistant rabbi at Westchester Reform Temple, Sasha enjoys bringing together spiritual care and clinical training to help individuals and families feel more connected, supported, and understood.
