PLEASE NOTE: These are working guidelines geared primarily for indoor worship/activities, subject to change. As is always the case, if you are experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath or other possible symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home!
masks (covering nose and mouth) required for all participants, regardless of vaccination status; vaccination/booster shots are strongly encouraged if you plan to join us in person!
hand washing/sanitizing: all participants are asked to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer upon entrance to the building (hand-washing stations will be installed near the doors)
social distancing is requested; in our case, we're a small enough congregation that distancing between non-family members during the service should not be a challenge
ventilation: there will be fans to help circulate air as much as possible during the service, and per the time change, we're also planning to use industrial fans in between services to help with air exchange before we start worship
worship leaders: full vaccination is required for pastor/guest preachers, music director and any lay leaders participating in worship; pastor/guest preacher, music director or lay leaders can remove masks while they are speaking/reading/preaching/singing (and naturally distanced from the congregation), but will wear masks otherwise; microphones will be wiped down between uses by different people
choir: any choir members (not more than 3 or 4) may remove masks while they are up front, singing (and fully vaccinated), but must practice social distancing from each other and music director
congregational singing: masks still required (sorry!)
Passing the Peace: we will refrain from hugs or other direct contact between non-family members, encouraging other signs of peace to maintain social distancing
Communion: we will use prepackaged, disposable communion sets (small cup with grape juice and wafer) for individual use; pastor will wear mask during communion liturgy, including distribution of elements; we will gather in a circle as numbers allow, stretching the circle out as widely as necessary to maintain social distancing
hymnals: we will not use hymnals or other shared items
bulletins: bulletins will include song lyrics; participants will pick up bulletins on their way in (no formal greeters usual)
children: because most of our children are younger and not yet vaccinated, we're exploring alternate options for Calvary Kids (Sunday morning activities and otherwise)
food/fellowship: we will not host any indoor potlucks (or other programs involving food) until further notice, but are exploring possible outdoor gatherings after service or on a different day
